The Farmer's Stable (from a print of a Morland engraving)
1792 - Engraver W. Ward Publisher D. Orme and Co., E. Walker, and J.F. Tomkins. Original in National Gallery (or at least it was in 1905).
The same engraving as above in colour. From the book George Morland by Baily,
Note how the detail in the above engraving is so much greater than it is in the oil painting. Also note the young boy become a man (or vice versa).
Presented here is an original photogravure from 1901 which has been extracted directly from a highly illustrated set called " History of the World's Best Artist: The Hundred Best Pictures " which was published in 1901 in London, England by Charles Letts & Co, Diarists & Printers. This work was arranged & edited by C. Hubert Letts.
